Sun River Electric Cooperative offers auditing services to our membership. These services are 'no charge' to the members as this service falls under the USBP (Universal Service Benefit Program) program for the State of Montana.
Audits are performed by certified auditors and offer insight into how your home rates in regard to energy efficiency. Items addressed include insulation rating, air infiltration, refrigerator/ freezer temperatures, clothes washing amounts, window type, fan operation, lighting types, and water use.
"High Usage" audits are also available to the members to address where the usage is occurring at the members account. Our trained staff will assist in identifying the house circuits that are drawing the major loads and also attempt to track down the appliance or item that is creating the load to the system. Load calculations can be used to assist in explaining the "High Usage".
To request an energy audit, call the office at (406) 467-2526 and ask for Mike. Audits are scheduled at times that are convenient for both parties and require that the member be present when the audit is being performed.
